Guaranteed Service Level Internet Access for Businesses
A quick search for business broadband reveals most of the familiar consumer brand names. And most of the familiar consumer products – ADSL, Fibre broadband (eg BT Infinity). And, on the surface, familiar consumer prices.
What you don’t immediately see are the next levels of connectivity. If your business depends on high quality, fast, secure broadband connections to your whole workforce, you need guarantees that the consumer levels of broadband can’t supply.
We offer three levels of business broadband services:
TOP TIER: Fibre Ethernet
When your business needs the maximum quality and speed of access, we can provide access speeds up to 1 Gb/s depending on location. This is based on a fibre optic connection direct from the internet service provider (ISP) with no slower copper connections in between. The connection is uncontended and is guaranteed based on an SLA.
We have access to all the providers of this service for all parts of the UK and get the best prices for you without the need to shop around. Fill in our connectivity contact form below to find out more.
2nd TIER: Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) / FTTC Ethernet
Both of these provide a guaranteed bandwidth up to 35 Mb/s (depending on location). EFM uses copper wires direct from the exchange (ISP), FTTC Ethernet uses fibre connections from your local BT cabinet. The connections are uncontended so they are guaranteed and not affected by other local users unlike all consumer services. They are also symmetric so upload and download speeds are the same – critical when you depend on cloud services for your business. Fill in our connectivity contact form below to find out more.
3rd TIER: FTTC / ADSL
FTTC is the familiar business broadband (eg BT Infinity) and is similar to the consumer service. It provides a fast, reliable connection at a reasonable price. It is ‘contended’ so if there are many local businesses or residential users online you may experience slow connections at times. It is also ‘assymetric’ (the upload speeds are much lower than the download speeds). Depending on the location, you may be able to achieve more than 40 Mb/s downloads (and much slower uploads). Where FTTC is not yet available, we can provide standard ADSL broadband with increased bandwidth by bundling up to four connections together.
We have extensive experience in all the variants and the important thing to note is that not all services are the same. We have tools to find out all of the providers available to you and will advise on the best options given your circumstances. For example, some providers are better than others for SIP (VoIP telephony) use.
The availability checkers on the national providers’ websites are not always reliable so contact us to check if you can get FTTC.
Peace of Mind
All of these services can (and should) be protected by an additional ADSL backup system. You will need an additional telephone line for this, but the peace of mind and security is critical as dependence on the internet grows.
We can also set up various levels of monitoring (in addition to overall managed IT services) to ensure that any issues with your connectivity are spotted before they cause significant problems.
